Can you believe how fast the semester has gone? I still feel it was just a couple of weeks ago I was introducing myself and hoping not to show how nervous I was.
Thank you for being a wonderful class.I can’t even explain how much I’ve learned from each of you.
Our last day together is next Tuesday, same time, same place. We’ll go over our final project, talk about what we did right, what we could have done better, what we never want to do again.
We’ll also fill out project evaluations and teacher evaluations. (Gulp.)
Thanks again for a wonderful semester. I see so much potential in each of you, and I am eagerly anticipating how you’ll change our industry.
Here’s an excellent little tutorial showing how you can use the Ken Burns effect with your audio slide show sin Final Cut Pro thanks to Izzy Videos by way of mefeedia.com.

The State Press Alumni Club is offering a $500 scholarship to a current State Presser. The deadline is Nov. 30. If you or someone you know want more info on this, contact Jodi Lau at writejodie@yahoo.com.
Exporting video for the Web
JMC 425 – Shoyeb
Videos are too large to be published online without compressing. Once you’re done with your video, you’ll export it for the Web. Move the .mov file to the SLOT folder.
Compressing audio and video requires some patience sometimes to get the right combination. For our class, we’ll present our video in QuickTime format
1. Save your project once again to make sure you have all the changes.
2. Select File > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion
3. Save the movie on your scratch disk and name it using the word final. Example: dovesfinal.mov
4. In the Save Exported File As dialogue, set the Format to QuickTime Movie and Use to Broadband – Medium.
5. If you’d like to experiment with a little more advanced compression features, select the Options button > Video> Settings and adjust the various levels and options.
6. Once finished, hit OK and Save to begin exporting the movie.
7. Play your video. If you don’t like the compression results, you can go back to the final, full version and export again with different settings.
